Hope for a Cure
Workshop starts: Oct 1st with registration.
Oct is my month and also Breast cancer awareness month. So first off, make sure you have had a mammogram this year, 2023. Early detection is the key to all cancers. I posted the chart for the ribbon color representing various cancers. I would like to stitch with you as we collectively put our thoughts together for a cure. This a celebration design of those we lost, hopeful for those fighting to survive, a joyful for those who are cancer free or in remission. Each life is so precious. Let's together make this happen. The quilt design contains (3) pieced hexagon blocks. You can make as many as you like using 1, 2 or all 3. Your color choices can be monochromic representing one cancer or multi-colored representing the cancer of several people in your life. Mine is the entire box of crayons (solids actually). The piecing is fun. The technique will be butterfly seams and Criss-cross seams. Those will be presented by video to watch live or at your leisure. You will need Polygon and Polygon3 Tools. If you chose to do this workshop in miniature, you will need the Polygon Acrylic Template Set. I'm using solids and I think semi-solid, batik, and blendables should work as well. I wouldn't rule out small scale prints if that is what you want to use. Go for it.
The workshop will be hosted on a private Facebook Group page (that you will join once you are registered). The program will include lives - usually on Mondays. The pattern and full supply list are in the files on the Facebook group page. You can go at your own pace or follow my weekly pace. Pattern is included in the workshop fee. You will need Polygon and Polygon3 Tools. AND you can also make this star in a mini using the Polygon Templates set. The finished size is your choice.

Partial Supply List:
Background: About 1-2 yard each of light or combination of lights. You can stay in one color or go neutral.
Ribbons: Lots (30) strips) of not much fabric (22") that is cut into 3" strips. If you don't want to go scrappy, hmm, my guess is you will need about 15 different fabrics. Much of this depends on what your target for the finished size. You can add more as you go.
If doing mini, you will need about 1/4 of what's stated above. The strip size is 2"
